THANK YOU, FRISCO!

This weekend the City Girl Farm chickens road tripped to the Arts in the Square in Frisco, Texas. We are learning that delight can be expressed in so many ways; some people laugh with gusto, some stand at a safe distance and watch, some simply smile, some kids go straight in for a hug, some pat each chicken and practice their counting, one girl makes chicken noises for five minutes straight, luckily no kids cry, and the large majority climb on for a ride. God's creation is so beautifully quirky and we seem to have captured instances of it in our chicken footstools. When people sit and put their feet up on a chicken they realize art can be fun, functional AND comfortable. What a joy to see people interact with our work - those who are young and those who are young at heart.

We enjoyed meeting other artists and art lovers, seeing old friends and soaking up the sunshine once it decided to break through. Thank you to AITS for all of your hard work and for awarding our chickens first place in 3D Mixed Media!

Come see the chickens at Art City Austin on April 2&3.

SPRING SHOWER

We were honored to design and print invitations for our dear friend Sarah's bridal shower. She loves hydrangeas and her wedding colors are shades of pink and yellow - quite a fun context to work within! The process involved finger painting, screen printing and stitching, so each invitation became a little work of art.

CUPCAKE BEAUTY

Our darling friend Annie had her 1st birthday party - cupcake style. Nothing was left un-iced, un-sparkled, or un-cupcaked. We made invitations here at the City Girl Farm and our mouths were literally watering by the time we were done printing - the paint smelled like icing! The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all, birthday girl included. We made Annie an outfit to remind her of this special occasion.

FARM ONESIE

We have passed beyond a season of friend weddings and are entering a season of friend babies! We know that access to farm life is important to every child's development - why not start early? This 'farm onesie' is most likely the first of many baby creations to come. It is hand dyed and screen printed at the City Girl Farm - perfect for boys and girls alike.

CHICKEN FOOTSTOOLS :: Frisco, TX

We are excited to hit the road this weekend for our first art fair of 2011! Please come if you are in the area - we would love to chat and the chickens would love for you to put your feet up. On April 2&3, we will be at Art City Austin, so please put that on your calendar as well.
